Mercedes AMG F1 W03

Yes, you can see the slight humps in the lower profile on each side. The flap looks a little smaller, but that could be the angle.

I looked at that. Hard to tell if it's a light reflection or not. The picture I "enhanced" about 10 pages back or so shows clearly a hole.

Lot of graining on the front right tyre.

The two pics posted on the previous page are from the previous Barcelona test. Notice the old rear wing as well as Rosberg's helmet, the Mercedes badge on the forehead now lies on a black square, not a silver one. The point is still valid though, the degradation is high and needs to be sorted out either in the next 3 days or at least in the gap between the tests and Australia FP1.

Is that graining ? I don´t think so. .
The team has issues with tyre degradation not graining as I understand and one can speculate that they have a good balance with fresh tyres and the fronts simply giving up earlier e.g. running hotter ..that may or may not be caused by an aero problem
(too much rearward centre of pressure ) but it may as well be more mechanical .We cannot judge from here.
I feel the Mercedes guys are well qualified to sort a setup issue.
At this time I think they really try to analyse and find the proper fix ..maybe it´s just they have to widen the range of adjustability to get over that issue.Expect them to have a workaround this week only so they will improve but the real step will be available only from Australia..

Don't know where you guys got the left/right front degradation myth, but I believe Rosberg when he say:
"Die Hinterreifen sind immer noch ein großes Thema", erklärte Rosberg im Hinblick auf den Reifenabbau der Mischungen. "Da müssen wir bei den Rennen weiter drauf aufpassen. Aber ich hatte heute ein gutes Gefühl."
"The rear tires are an issue, we have to watch them in the races. But I had a good feeling today.

I have to wonder if it has something to do with that exhaust system they are running. Blowing in areas (tires) they just don't want.

Scarbs & I were having a chat about my post on page 46(first post) and the duct leading to crash structure. He believes it's a duct too and points out that the radius rule to prevent blown wing slots doesn't apply to the middle 15cm. Hence perfectly legal if that's what they're doing.

Fuel maybe. The mechanic is holding the cover for whatever it is.
