What's interesting here is the lack of nice clear flows. When we saw the McLaren flow vis ...
My thoughts exactly.
Not an aerodynamicist so can't tell whether one is better than the other, but the differences between the Ferrari and the McLaren are striking.

edit: perhaps they have been concentrating on different speeds?
That and the cars are different. The McLaren area leading to the sidepods just behind the front tyres appears larger than the Ferrari.

Yes it was tested. But was only used for part of the day. Like many of the new parts brought to the test.

Page 87 & 88 were first posts about new floor & diffuser. Below is the combination.

What are you guys talking about?

What floor? :?
It sounds as if you are nonchalantly confirming the existence of something that may not exist.

Well, it was clear that they have had at least two diifferent floors, as one we saw was extremely glossy. Magical Byrne floor though? who knows?

So they DO have a wing in front of the sidepod like the rumors said before testing began! It's just very short and stubby compared to the concept drawings we saw.

Please please let's keep this topic on technical & the car aspects, not how it might or might now do in Melbourne. I've had enough of that elsewhere today.

Having a look at the picture you can see how truly slanted the wing pylons are in an attempt to creature a Venturi like effect at the air coming under the nose.

I'd assume the crew are wearing helmets just to get used to wearing them while handling the car under race conditions. They also look like a new design for this year. However, can anyone think of a (non-medical) reason why the guy on the right is wearing a carbon fiber shield over this abdomen?

(Yes, I'm bored and perhaps looking deeper into things than is really advisable.)

Very smooth pit stop, as you can see the exhaust looks like in the launch position.

Those Oz Wheel nuts are fantastic.
