A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

Do we think this will be the Melbourne spec FW34 with the combined exhaust and cooling setup? Or maybe it might feature in Malaysia? (right click & view image for higher res)

Reminds me of the R30 witch had a very similar rear body work design...

Great shot. It's a shame we can have a slightly elevated view direct from the rear to see whether the holes around the suspension arms and down near the rear of the gearbox have been closed off. That would help us determine whether it's just a hot race package or not. I guess we might have to wait until Melbourne to see!

...

Is the upper wishbone generally attached to the engine?

I don't think, that the upper wishbone is attached to the engine, rather to an extension of the gearbox...

Is the DRS actuator normally like that? Or is there another "shroud" that isn't there yet?

It is attached to the engine . Ferrari started this trend a few years ago .

Guess that is not the case here. As there is a heat shield here, it not clear where the engine gearbox junction is.

It seems much more sophisticated and cleaner design. For comparison >

On FW34 the rear wisbones seem much shorter. Or it's an optical illusion ?
