Force India VJM05

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

Not really strange. it reduces lift under the engine cover by keeping the air flow as horizontal as possible.
Imagine if that separation wasnt there, the air will blow up to the top and pressurize the engine cover.
For Sure!!

Scarbs tweeted that as Lotus. Which one is it, I have no idea myself. Can't even find info on the brakes used by either team for their 2012 cars :?:

how come the crash structure is a different case to the one in the background? is there a shaped part that goes over the top of what we see in the front crash structure to make it like the one in the background ?

There seems to be a channel inboard of the exhaust exit that gets deeper towards the rear. Are they directing the exhaust towards the central beam wing area with this? Also why is the start of the channel (furthest forward) so abrupt? What is there to gain from that shape?
