Yes I believe there is.Would there be any benefit to channeling a significant amount of air into the driver compartment?

I"m happy to be proven wrong but that actually sounds more like the exhaust isn't doing what they expect. On corner exit the throttle is being applied so there shouldn't be any issues caused by off throttle blowing.univex wrote:MW indicated on ONE HD interview with Daryl Beatie that they have a problem with balance on both cars. Balance is fine going into a corner, and during, though not coming out of the corner. MW and SB lacking complete confidence on corner exit.
For me this adds weight to the earlier discussion around RBR having to ditch the blown exhaust loop hole.
MW also talked of the need to gap the Mercedes powered car before the DRS zones. Obviously concerned at the lack of straight line speed.
Mostly it's a good comparison of the sidepods/rear end and how tight it all is.raymondu999 wrote:Are you trying to show something specifically of the RB8?
I'm not saying you were wrong to do it - just asking if you were just showing a beautiful photo from the top - or if you were trying to point out something in specificBlackout wrote:It's just a photo that shows the difference philosophies between the too cars... a photo witch is beautiful too
Remember – the taper on the McLaren is under the exhaust bulge, so it's very hard to see from above.hardingfv32 wrote:Looks like McLaren's side pod does not really start to tapper until it reaches the exhaust outlet.
Aero significance of a flatter outside surface on the sidepod? Helps with the aiming of the exhaust?

I guess you could realistically argue that – I'd suggest though that really it's a taper, with an aero device attached to the top – but it is a very blurred line.raymondu999 wrote:Technically isn't that an undercut though? If we want to argue on such semantics; that is.
Either way both cars actually taper by a similar amount, McLaren have just chosen to put more bulk further forward whereas Red Bull have more bodywork further back.beelsebob wrote:I guess you could realistically argue that – I'd suggest though that really it's a taper, with an aero device attached to the top – but it is a very blurred line.raymondu999 wrote:Technically isn't that an undercut though?
