Wow that McLaren is hooked up. Hamilton fastest by 0.23 seconds so far from the Torro Rosso, Ferrari and Red Bulls. Despite those others having done short runs on the option tyre, with Hamilton doing his time on a five lap run on used hard tyres!

McLaren's the only team so far that have been able to go quicker on their second runs on the options (although Button abandoned his lap and went into the pits). And Hamilton was held up enough in the final corner by at least enough to mention it over the radio. Looking in good shape with plenty of pace and longevity from the tyres.

All teams were going with DRS open or most. Mclaren was using DRS open on all laps,wonder why. Same case with Mercedes,though MSC on his last run did not use DRS.

Mclaren is the quickest car IMO & by far. And not much tyre degradation too. DRS is worth atleast 1 full seconds considering the big straight

They did their equivalent of low fuel runs. How low is low?

Red Bull probably had a similar amount of fuel on board as McLaren. Webber did a single flying lap. Vettel made a mistake and ran wide on his flying lap so backed out and then did another. He was on the radio complaining about the tyres being all over the place and having no balance. Webber was one of the first to run the medium compound so the track probably rubbered in a bit after that, but I wouldn't see that explaining much of the difference.

As with Australia Red Bull just don't look quick in qualifying trim. Their race pace looked solid though, similar to McLaren's although there's probably more scope for the latter to bias their setup towards the race without sacrificing grid position.

Could the Mp4-27be last year's RB7?
Anyway it is clear that Macca is still Ahead,it will be hard to catch, but I don't doubt in Red Bull's ability to develop the car.

What happened to Lotus-Renault in particular Kimi? We could forgive his partner for being a novice in Sepang, but Kimi still moaning about his steering wheel?
It could be Merc challenging for front row for Sat and the Bulls Sunday.
