Shame on Sauber for settling for the second. That radio message was smt I will never forget as bad as "Alonso faster than you". Even worse... Shame...

That's your view on it. The internet is good for discussions - but when one already has his mind set; there is no point. I have much better things to do.

Sebastian Vettel (11th)
“Most crucially we lost radio communication and that makes it very difficult in these conditions to know what’s going on."
Christian Horner, Red Bull team principal

"We had lost all radio contact with Sebastian, which meant we could only speak with him via the pit board."
Is it just me or does Team Vettel have more than its share of radio-breakdowns? I recall reading this a number of times in 2010 and 2011. Weird that it is always their radio breaking, it doesn't seem to happen to other teams as much.

Quite true actually. They do get hit by it quite a lot, don't they?

I don't think it was a back up message. They never insisted on it either, and he was closing the gap all to the end, finishing 2.something seconds behind.

You don't have to forget that 18 points for a team like Sauber is a lot. Don't forget that the amount of money a team gets from Bernie depends on the constructor standings.

Last year sauber finished 7th behind force india, 25 points behind them. While a victory is obviously better it's probably not worth risking it for the extra 7 points. Had the run off area been a meter shorter Perez might be at 0 points today.

It is totally worth the effort, if he had to try a do or die move to pass I'd agree but he was so much faster that the message by the team was crazy. Very sad day for racing

And then who gets the constructor's points? HRT or Marrusia just purchased a car and glued it all together
and what happens if a customer Macca/RB car is in front of a Ferrari, Lotus, etc, and finishes ahead of them???????

McLaren made mistakes in the pits, they weren't the only ones and like I said above, on the stop Lewis made where the jack didn't go under correctly he was about a foot past his marks.

and remember, one such mistake cost Massi the 2008 WDC and gifted it to Hamilton ;-) These things happen to all under presure.....

Blaming the radio, blaming the weather, blaming Narain, come in, stay out, retire the car now... RB is embarassing at this start of the season, really, and it's funny how you can see Vettel's true face in situations like this - a cocky kid who expects everyone to jump on the gravel to make him way. I'm not taking Narain's part (I still think HRT are moving chicanes) but that's not a double WDC atitude by Seb. It just leaves me a bitter taste.
"...and there, very much in flames, is Jacques Laffite's Ligier. That's obviously a turbo blaze, and of course, Laffite will be able to see that conflagration in his mirrors... he is coolly parking the car somewhere safe." Murray Walker, San Marino 1985

No radio, eh? Wouldn't know this from the comically frantic instructions they kept transmitting to Vettel in the last lap about stopping on track, taking the checkered flag, or boxing the car. This Horner is a piece of work.

I'm not going to take sides on whose fault the accident was. Point is that it was an 'accident'. Sometimes these things happen. Vettel should really have thought twice about making such an aggressive move on a car thats so much slower, has had no testing and in wet conditions.

What really has me disappointed is that he's such a bad sportsman about it. Calling a fellow driver an idiot on television? Really? Jensen plowed into the back of Karthikeyan and he didn't call Button an idiot. Infact he apologised to both Vettel and Button. If Vettel still had a problem he could have reamed NK out in person or lodged a complaint.

Seems like Vettel may be a double World Champion but certainly isn't much of a human being.

Also it amuses me that his teammate has outqualified him in both races this year when his car isn't the best by a mile anymore. Seems like chinks are showing in his armor. Give a driver like Alonso an equally good car and Vettel wouldn't touch him. Hell he wouldn't touch Rosberg.

Mr. Vettel you call him an idiot but i'd like to see you in that HRT and prove you can do better. Shame on you!

I think Vetel said that they lost radio control in the beginning of the race.
Not for the whole race. Possibly they fixed it during the red flag situation
