F1 CAD help

Post

Hi guys, I'm studying mech eng year one and seeing as i've all but finished I decided to go ahead with F1 bits in solidworks. I'm going basic so 2009 era so the lines are easier to build. Trouble i'm having right now is getting the cuts in the rear wing endplates.

the shark style gills have been baffling me for days, hopefully someone could help and hopefully this is in the right area

Cheers

Kris

They arent actually needed, but they reduce drag, so what you want to do is make it bleed the airflow which reduces drag

It's not really the use of them, as i've read into why they are there, It's simply how I create them accurately using solidworks. As far as I can tell, the only way for me to do it is to just cut holes in the endplate but not have the little roof style element that goes over the top of the hole.
