Ross Brawn: "Don't call it a B version, it's not, even if there are a lot of updates. We'll have new aerodynamics and a lot more." It's also possible that the suspension will be revised, though the majority of the updates will be thanks to the work done in the wind tunnel. There will be new wings, of course, this is normal but the biggest update will be at the front, with important changes to the lower part to improve the quality of airflow to the rear."

Now looking at the pics from thursday and friday...all I can say..
endplates are bigger? nose, rear wing and barge boards look different?

I can't see any substantial updates like Ferrari decribed, there is definately something different about that nose though...

Ferrari has pumped in another $26 million to boost Michael Schumacher's charge for an eighth World Championship in 2006.

Buoyed by the German's dominance at Indianapolis, Jean Todt convinced his backers to bolster this year's Ferrari budget, according to major German newspaper Bild.

At Jerez last Friday, in preparation for the upcoming French Grand Prix, the 37-year-old racer set a new test lap record with a rejuvenated car. Although Ross Brawn insists that it is not a 'B' specification, the heavily revised 248 features a new engine cover, front wing and engine, packing an extra 20 hp.

The tabloid daily also described new Bridgestone tyres for Magny Cours as 'super-rubber', and said Team Principal Todt had asked Ferrari staff to work extra shifts at Maranello to implement the upgrade.

With eight races to run this season, Schumacher is 19 points behind Renault rival Fernando Alonso.


''I don't know whether my victory at Indy was representative of the next races,'' Schumacher was quoted as saying, ''but I am convinced that we have taken a step forward.

''Our goal is still to win the championship title.''

His personal manager, Willi Weber, added: ''Michael has the best tyres, the stronger mind, and Ferrari are finally developing faster than Renault again. I'm sure he can win.''

Sorry Sounds Like good old German propaganda to me.

Also i am sure if you put another 26 million into the team, they wont see results in 2 weeks. It will be talking months and months. Its not like spending more money gets you anywhere Eg Honda and Toyota.

I hope there is a good fight this year. But i think its fool hardy to Assume Ferrari dominace after Winning at Indy, which as we all know is Not like any other track F1 goes to.

To me its not how good the car is, Its how good massa is that counts after all, alonso just has to come second to win.

Partially true. Most teams operate within a finite budget. And at this time of year, this is when teams decide just how much resources and money they will devote to improving the current car. If they are out of the title hunt, and doing terribly (like Ferrari were at one year ago) you don't spend anything on the current car, but instead your money and resources to preparing the next year's car. But if you're in the game, and competitive, you just can't turn off the development, because your competitors will leap ahead.
So Ferrari are definitely back in the game this year, and obviously this extra 26 million is going to be devoted to developing the current car, in the hope it may deliver a driver's or manufacturer's title. Last year, that kind of money would have gone to developing the next season's car.

I didn't notice the revised bargeboards on the car today in qualifying. Anyone see anything different?
