Mercedes AMG F1 W03

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

So it has been officially declared as an extension of DRS which when you think about it, it is!

What about for the future the driver opens his visor slightly and the high pressured air is funneled down through pipe work in his suit and out to a specific area of the car. How would Lotus feel about that one? :wtf:

That's just it. How much of an advantage does the Daffy Duct give when its use in the race is very, very restricted even though the car has to be set up heavily in its favor for it to be effective?

I'm sure you really mean, Alonso: 35; Mercedes: 1.
No i think he would mean alonso 35 Micheal 1

Yes, it looks like they modified the outboard piece of the 3rd element of the front wing making the outer edge of the front wing actually a 4 piece wing. Very nice details.

Yeah merc doesnt have that green color on its car. Or the 2nd smaller element on the upper wing being that big, its very small on the merc compared to most

I could tell from that gurney tab on the outside of the endplate, that this wasn't Mercedes, but now you've mentioned it, you can see the Force India Livery aswell

This is MGP, don't wait for updates. Only update is from Rosberg, that tyre issue is not resolved.
Yeah, Ivan. This team is really not up to top standards.

Sauber is already bringing very visible exhaust updates to China, and they already had the most advanced layout. Mercedes with a bad one, doesn't seen to be working on it. Afterall, they also have tire wear issues to steal their attention.

Maybe the issues are connected, to some extent. A better exhaust layout could help tire wear but it's not likely to see Mercedes addressing those issues any time soon

Something else we can take from the detailed account of the protest. The official name of the system is "Double DRS" or "DDRS".

As for the Sauber comparison, I think it's silly to compare the timescale of a team that's "refining" its exhaust with a team that is likely "redoing" their exhaust.

Let´s wait and see what W03 can do this weekend .
I´m pretty sure rushing out updates is not the way to go when you have been overshooting the setup window in two consecutive races.Putting in more variables will not be of any help.

You could just as well concur that Sauber has it wrong because they continue to adjust their exhaust system. Mercedes is faster so their exhaust must be better. You really have no clue to the exhaust system performance.

Mercedes is only faster in qualifying. On race pace, C31 have way more pace than W03.

And if you really think Mercedes exhaust is better than Sauber, then I suppose you haven't read all that had been said and posted on the matter.
