Ferrari F2012

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

I'm appreciating their efforts in evolving such a detail on overall car's performance. I mean, that level of refinement makes a great constrast against those ugly (because they are really ugly) exhausts. Let's hope the same happens to the rest of the car.
I'm still confident that if they find their way in May, with Alonso in such a great shape, a world championship is possible.

Two pictures from China showing current exhaust manifold.

On this you can also see where electrical wiring is routed.

Are you in China Forza? Marshall? Good pictures. We see they've done nothing with the radiators. I thought possibly with the new engine cover with a large cooling exit like RB/Sauber they might have switched the rads position. Not yet so far.

Probably in preperation for Mugello/Barcelona.
If someone said to me that you can have three wishes, my first would have been to get into racing, my second to be in Formula 1, my third to drive for Ferrari.

Crucial_Xtreme@ No, I'm not in China but pictures were taken yesterday at China. As you mentioned the radiator position is the same as if was at pervious races. We can also see the pull rod at the back. Unfurtunatelly the second image was blockd.
They will need to change some internal packaking to redirect the cooling air but so far there is no indication of that.

Way to be a stand up guy. The others who swore they were reflections of course haven't admitted they were wrong.

Indeed. Very interested to see which exhaust solution we use. Sauber have modified theirs & RB are thinking of switching back to the launch spec. Lotus have a very fast car and aren't using the gasses in any sort of particular way.

Hard to tell if Fernando's car has the new engine cover, but it doesn't look like it from this picture.

practice 1 in 42 minutes, we shall see.

Edit: Massa has sensors on the car in FP1 doing controlled speeds around the track on his installation lap.

He is not running the new engine cover, Cannot see Alonso out yet! >.<

Hello Folks.

Just wanted to ask. What are those holes/slots for near the front suspension arms?

New Rear wing, flow vis Ejected via Rear cooling duct, looks similar to last years banned wing...however instead of the one cut/groove there is two!

The chord of the upper flap seems longer, and obviously the notches in the trailing edge. Not sure how that (the notches) could help their lack of rear downforce, but they must know what they are doing.

Looks like they were about to change sidepods/engine cover too. Interesting new RW. The double V-Groove. Very interesting. They were taking lots of pictures of that RW.
