Where is the new cover engine ?
Yes, I meant that it was not used in the 2 practice sessions.Raptor22 wrote:on the a-frame stand
What's the thing with the 3 red lights behind the car - thermal imaging, something boring like a cooling fan with LEDs?Crucial_Xtreme wrote:Best pic I can find of new RW, for now.
Domenicali InterviewExhaust development has been a key area in 2012, with teams trying to recover as much downforce as possible after the blown diffuser was banned this season. However, Ferrari have had to re-evaluate their design and will not be running their preferred specification again this weekend.
Domenicali said: "At the moment the exhaust we have is the one we had in Malaysia. So we will just have to work with it and see if at the next race we are able to swap back to the other one."
I think that's only aesthetics: if you don't like it then buy an audi...myurr wrote:In each picture you can see something that looks a little rough, or taped together, or has a ragged edge, or has a messily applied sticker, etc. It's nowhere near as polished as a McLaren for example.
Message from Ted in the pitlane is that as the front left tyres came off the McLaren they were looking pretty clean and good, but on the Ferrari there was a lot of graining.
Edit: To provide more detail on the poor manufacturing: on the front wing look at the rough and inaccurate surface around the top parts of the little ducts and the polyfilla around the base of each duct; on the side pod turning vanes look at the big patch on the side pod behind them with the scuffed up edges and poor finish on the vane itself around where it attaches with the screw; the vents at the back which as you point out look like they've been cut by a four year old with a pen knife; the first picture of the rear wing, look around the screws for more scuffed up edges and poor finish, a poorly fitting little cover below and another sticker further down. There are many many more examples around the car.
But in some of the areas where the panels meet, some are not as aligned or joined cleanly like the other teams'. I think this was noted especially in the Malaysian GP. Wouldn't misaligned panels affect air flow negatively? I refuse to believe it's all about aesthetics.motobaleno wrote:

I know exactly what you're talking about, I posted some of the pictures showing the poorly fitting pieces on Friday. However for Qualifying & the race, all of the pieces fit perfectly.omar2726 wrote:But in some of the areas where the panels meet, some are not as aligned or joined cleanly like the other teams'.
