Sidepod/Exhaust idea

Post

I've just had a thought

What if this sidepod design

was mixed with the current mclaren exhaust solution

would it work?

i.e the mclaren solution bring the exhaust position into line with the regulations.

could you explain how are you suppose to align the radiators with such small space and are those inlet provide sufficient air to cool those radiators?

I think it would be too difficult to package exhaust around my launch spec narrow sidepods. It's difficult enough packaging the radiators.

I can't, I was just looking at the two ideas and thought would it work. Hadn't thought of packaging

Actually Jordan J196 back in 1996 had twin inlet sidepods , similar to your idea but a lot wider. Mechanics and designers need το compromise between mechanical and aerodynamic efficiency .Try recall to your memory the Red Bull RB7 in 2011, a car having very narrow sidepods which prevented the team to use KERS early at season due to cooling and packaging issues.
Future is like walking into past......
