Ok guys, we are getting a bit too far off topic.

Anything that isn't directly related to the 2012 Bahrain GP situation will be "dealt with" in one way or another; editing, moving, deleting. This isn't a history discussion, and former topics about politics and wars have never ended well.

You stated your own opinion that you like race to take place, and that is your opinion. Why are posts with opinions different to that and different to FIA and FOM being deleted? I'm getting PM from other people complaining about biased censorship that smells like mods are sucking up to FIA and FOM, preventing freedom of speech on forum.

The world didn't know about it when it was happening. The ones who knew were either regime men or foreign agents. Some of the secrets of cold war era took half a century to come out in light. My point is that Bahrain regime is in desperate position, and desperate people make desperate moves, which often lead to clumsiness, public humiliation and that usually results in chaos.
You're going off topic as this does not relate to the 2012 Bahrain GP.

Please stop delving into the history books of former dictatorial countries and only talk about the current situation with the Bahrain GP.

Btw, the quoted post will be deleted.

This is not related to Bahrain situation? Why is polite explanation of similar things learned from the history "going off topic"?

I agree there is some form of censorship going on here which i don't appreciate.

There is still two days left to run, lets hope a peaceful message comes across to stop the race.

From a sponsorship perspective I'm in a position of knowledge that several or more major sponsors will be pulling out effective immediately if anything dangerous, serious happens over the weekend.

Lets say its not good business as people will see these sponsors product(s) associated with oppression/chaos.
If someone said to me that you can have three wishes, my first would have been to get into racing, my second to be in Formula 1, my third to drive for Ferrari.

It appears Force India might already be done for the day, and may no longer participate in FP2 due to safety concerns.

I think that with FI's performance in last three race they can hardly afford this. But to each their own.

Start and park for contractual obligations. So DIR & HUL to do a single install lap and thats it.

It was funny that the teams were racking up the laps in FP1.

Teams may do a USA 05 style thing. Start and park.

Sponsors may be forcing teams hand on this.

I was so looking forward to talk on racing this weekend.

One of the two of their team members who have left Bahrain is their radio communication chief. So it could be that unlike other teams, they might be suffering from that problem. Perhaps their team members can't communicate with paddock, listen radio comm broadcast for emergency warnings etc. on their way to hotel and back to circuit.

I don't know. I can't imagine they don't have anyone who can cover that role

I guess later we might see where other teams stand. I wouldn't be surprised if one or two others follow suit.

I expect some other teams to do the same in FP2 (as FI). And I wouldn't be surprised if what you just said happens and is true.

Ecclestone offered to stay at circuit with FI and then travel back unescorted with them after FP2, Andrew Benson reports on twitter.

Whilst FOM ( Mr. E) declares no political or religious affiliation, they receive support and income from those who do. It is not sufficient to receive benefit without accepting a level of accountability and responsibility commensurate. In those cases where sport and politics meet head-on (re: BIC), sport has to accept some form of responsibility as the issues that affect the masses cannot be glossed over by a sporting charade that seeks to pretend all is well.

It is not clear to me what the protesters actions seek, but if they assert that the regime which they live under is tyrannical, then the visiting F1 'democracy' (re: FIA/FOM) and its' globally branded tele-visuals, is unlikely to make the situation of the protesters feel better on the ground, after the departure of the F1 circus. There is an issue of responsibility here, that Mr E is failing to acknowledge that FOM has.

Macca won't be one of the teams, Bahraini royals own 50% of them so they will make sure they get fully armed security for all members...
