Massa did his lap too early.

Is it close or what this year. Just 0.7 seconds separate the top 14 cars. WOW.

Think the grid is far too close this year for any clever games. We've seen both Schumacher and Raikkonen go out now when their car was capable of more, plus McLaren ran it really fine in the first session.

:)
Happy to be wrong. Guess his first run was on used options. Still only expect P8 or so for him on the final grid :)
I think, as Brundle said, the track is evolving quite quickly.

With Raikonnen and Schumacher gone, i'm hoping for 7th.

I'm unfortunately in Germany and don't speak German, so I don't have any commentary. Having to make it all up as I go along.

Vettel's radio saying that they'll use the used options from the first Q2 run for their first Q3 run, and save the new set of softs for the final Q3 shot

Or just settling for 10th like Force India/Merc used to do last year. EDIT: Nvm; Alonso's come out of the pits.

Button was on new options, suggesting that they'll not try and save a set for the race. Could they prefer the primes for the race after all? Perhaps having the car set up to not lean to heavily on the tyres to preserve their life in the race, but still having the softs come up to temperature in time for a quick lap?

Alonso is out so could be doing two runs - one on used options one on fresh.

Close at the front, can all change again on the second runs. Quick times though, should at least take the fight to the Mercedes cars.

Alonso aborted his run and pitted? Realised everyone else was doing just a single run and so shouldn't waste the tyres or did he make a mistake?
