Monkey Seats

Post

I'm aware of the benefits of said mini wing; helps re-energize airflow in this area, helps extraction from diffuser, basically improves upwash of the entire rear of the car.

What I'm wondering is does anyone have any specific data on the monkey seats? Any studies or papers? Thanks in advance.

Edit: Brian? Have anything?

I did a search when they the subject was first brought up using biplane wings as the description. Not much as you can imagine. Of coarse there is little directly on point. Any other suggestions for a search.

I did note from the biplane CFD that influence of the low pressure side of the wing extends many times in distance than the high pressure side.

I have some stuff on multiplane wings and diffuser extraction, but its difficult to compare because the vortex formation is different. As well, the effect it has over the span is different, so you need 3D simulation to really know.

I'm still curious as to how it helps the rear wing.
