Sauber C31 Ferrari

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

Eventhough they are rich, Sauber budget is still quite low.

The chance is not so small. Sauber was quicker in Sepang race and maybe quicker on China's qualifying as Kamui qualified very close to Hamilton and Lewis is probably better qualifier than Kamui, so.....

With this amount of updates, I won't be surprised if they annoy top teams again if everything falls into place

About the tech aspects of the car, it always caught my eyes the black part of upper plane on Sauber's fw. The part besides the red plane(written "claro"). It seems very different to any other car.

From this picture I would say the silver bundles are tubes leading the pressure taps.

Strange shapes close to the endplates... Local stalling caused by the exhaust?

Ducting confirmed to be air pressure sensor tubing and not DDRs.

That is indeed a boundary layer separation. The wing is stalling. Not a good sign.

Car was on fire! Perez jumped out and fire extinguisher was used before car wheeled back into garage. So, I think that they WERE bothered about it!

Maybe they want to stall it?

Nothing to gain from stalling the beam wing.
