Ferrari F2012

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

indeed some visible changes, most notably to my eyes, the black part just to the left of the exhaust exit. I am guessing ... different material with better resistance to heat.

New fuel for the F2012. Shell claims it will give the team an advantage over the others.

NEW SHELL V-POWER

Very interesting.....i was thinking about this the other day. Shell is our only source of adding more beef to the 056.

I hope it works out!

All teams reiterate on front aero importance as the major differentiator also for its knock on effect on rear end aerodynamic and downforce.
Maybe putting the rod the other way around in that critical area between front tyre and tub does change the flow fíeld towards bad more than they can afford?

Tombazis said at the launch of the car that the pull rod front suspension gives a "small" benefit to aerodynamics. However, he didn't specify exactly how it's beneficial.

I wonder if it allows for more aerodynamically efficient sidepod inlets due to the fact that turbulent flow is better than laminar flow for heat transfer.

lo. Good pic Luca. I'm hoping for some good pictures of the rear so we can get a good look at the new rear brake ducts.
