And I can't really see any difference, must all be internal.
Its 4 tenths in oughright pace from weight saving. However there will be more unlocked from mechanichal setup than anything else, but that will be developed more over the next 2 or 3 GP. And yes, it saves the tyres on long runs, whitch will generally see the car maybes to go an extra 2 laps to the previous gearbox.

that´s the barnard -coughlan-savage line not Brawn I´d say.BAR´s rise into the winners circle was only after they introduced their carbonfibre gearbox casing and they dropped the idea only last year for whaterver reason to reintroduce it this year.
The Cast/Carbon box came back with the MGP W01 on cost grounds as it was saving a arround 25% on costs to a carbon case, the last cases on the BGP001 were cast/carbon ones seemingly. However that was on the Bridgestones and the extra weight over the rear gave that car better traction seemingly. However they are back to carbon to save the tyres and also have a gearbox that is a little thinner and is shaped better to allow better aero. Ultimatly it gives them more downforce from the beam wing and the diffuser.
