Not in Barcelona. They are at the newer pit facilities like Bahrain, Abu Dhabi, Silverstone and Suzuka for instance. However facilities like Barcelona, Monza, Hungaroring and Hockenheim all need updating to facilities like the newer tracks, or newer pit facilities at existing tracks.
The tracks with the overhead dump sprinklers are as follows:
Shanghai
Bahrain
Valencia Urban
Silverstone
Korea
Suzuka
India
Abu Dhabi
Austin, USA
There are one or two more like Turkey.
The others either don't have sprinklers, or just have normal sprinklers. The new dump sprinklers dump 10 litres a minute over the fire where normal sprinklers put up to 2.5 litres a minute over the fire. This would have helped a lot.
I think this will lead tracks to put in dump sprinklers or ideally new pit facilities as many tracks have dreadfully woeful facilities now. The Barcelona pit building is only 8 or 9 years old as it was upgraded in 2003/2004 and was fit for purpose right up to 2009/2010, however now they are quite poor for modern F1. Im sure that other series are watching this as when more series that have KERS go to Barcelona will be wanting to know if there is a specific safety breach or not.
The reports after this will be interesting to read, if they are released.
