Alonso, Vettel, Hamilton... Those guys seem almost virtual equals in terms of raw speed, ability to wring a car by the neck & throw it around the track to extract the last ounce of pace, as well fearlessness in tiptoeing on the absolute limit of the car, tyre & track.

Lewis is certainly a good bet for pole in Monaco (if the team permits it). But a win based on how the season has gone for him, so far? Every time he pits, it's like playing Russian roulette with a six-shooter -- 5 live bullets and only 1 empty chamber.

A good point ray, however I think pole will go to whoever has the balls to take q3 all out with no fear of binning it. I'll put my money on Alonso
wow! you said Kimi or Hamilton dont have balls :o atleast, Kimi and Hamilton have bigger balls then all current drivers (including Alonso) in f1.

I think we could see the top teams end Q3 separated by hundredths! I hope I'm right and that we get cars following each other all race, will make for some exciting and very close racing.

Race

1.Alo

Maldonado and Hamilton will have same situation as last year.

Qualifying's always been my favorite part of the Monaco weekend to be frank. I don't know. Alcatraz I think we're talking on the same wavelength, just that you think Alonso will do it, I think he'll just miss it!
If you remember, was it last year or 2010 when FA binned it on FP2 or Sat. :?: That is what I'm afraid of, Alonso has a bad habit of overreaching or maybe just not have found (the bin limit) them yet and has found the wall in practice. If he can get to q3 and is within .25 he will find it or they will be working all night so he can start 11, which doesn’t work at Monaco without refueling!

Let´s not forget almost every top driver has binned the car.
It´s really the only way to truly reach the limit.

Also not so sure about the no refueling part. Last year there was a few overtakes, albeit a bit more scrappy then normal.

And in 2010 i think Alonso went from last to 6th.

Yes that is what I'm saying. I was just wondering to myself If Fred will be a little cautous in practice(you never know anyway because of varying programs), and fuel.
My point is if Alonso can keep from jacking his rig before Q3 and it F2012 has the quali pace, I'll fell confident in him starting on the first 2 rows
BTW that 20 to 6 was after he binned it on Sat. and started from the back. Didn't he hit in Saint Devote?

He binned the car in Massenet i believe.
I don´t think he will be cautious, it´s not something you would think about when in the car, in the car it´s 100% pushing.

He will wring the neck out of that Ferrari in Q1-2-3 no doubt about that.

Hmm.. I am going the other way. I somehow think Mclaren have "unlocked" the car before their rivals; in qualifying they will be on another planet. Mclaren 1-2 by 0.7 seconds to Merc.

Not sure of the corner name, But I know it was at the top of the hill after the the first corner, the left hand turn before the right.
