Wow, he surely did crash deliberately
Look at his racing line, that's way inside and he went there in full sense to hit him
Same as Spa 2011

I want to hear what Perez had to say on the radio. Hopefully it is a bit jucier than Hamilton's radio chat after his clash with Maldonado in Spa

Curious now as to what the stewards are gonna do after this one. The pics in the previous page show he's turning into the barriers and not into the corner...

Thats got to be a joke? only 10?

What an interesting week it will be after this GP...

That's disappointingly mild. He had no extenuating/mitigating circumstances (read excuses). Exclusion from qualy would've been deserved.

That's an absolute disgrace. I hope the teams group together to condemn the decision, but fear it'll be the usual whitewash. How many times does Maldonado have to do this until they actually punish him? This is actually less of a penalty than they gave him last time, and they gave Hamilton a much more severe penalty for not having half a lap of fuel in his car.

Those kind of penalties are only reserved for Lewis and Schumacher

Frankly speaking the utter bias and inconsistency of ruling in f1 has reached its peak levels now
Maybe the driver steward was not a good idea

To be fair, the punishments seem disproportionate because having your practice/qualy times deleted isn't technically a punishment, it's the unavoidable result of running a non-compliant car.

But yes, there's a point where latin flair turns into disregard for colleague's safety.

So it would seem that the following penalties are what the FIA would consider fair and consistent:

1) Being short fuelled by half a lap due to a mechanics error - disqualified and sent to the back of the grid.
2) Having a mechanical failure causing you to require a gearbox change - 5 place penalty.
3) Indecision leading you to accidentally plough into the back of a competitor - 5 place penalty.
4) Your second offence for deliberately crashing into a competitor in a moment of rash anger - 10 place penalty.

Yet again it's another stewarding farce from the FIA.

Well...Mansell did win in a Williams...cough...cough and he is my idol a long with Gilles and Ayrton...so don't start the hate wagon.

But something doesn't smell right...
