Mark Webber won his second Monaco Grand Prix in three years after starting from pole and not making a single mistake all through the race. It wasn't however easy, the next 5 runners finished within the next 6 seconds. Nico Rosberg was closest as he finished second while Fernando Alonso completed the podium in third place.
the fact that they are cruising around and suddenly popping in fastest laps, almost just for fun, shows are slow they are going.
Oh, and its still a procession? So ...i'd rather see a procession where they are all on the edge of their abilities and trying, rather than this.
alonso clearly has pace and can't even attack if he wanted to.
grosjean should get a penalty because his behaviour at the start was completely erratic, and he would have been well aware schumacher was on the left of him, which is why he tried to cut back across. That could have turned out a lot worse than it was - and no driver weaves about like that, especially not here.
and it is a lottery because look how temperature is affecting pace. track temperature is cooler....and that is now randomly why the ferraris have got pace.
Grosjean squeezed MSC into the wall and caused a collision! There's a difference between weaving and causing collisions - Grosjean seems to cause a lot of the latter, evidenced by his own record of retirements.
He has been let off very lightly for all his incidents this year, and you have to wonder if perhaps he would be more careful in future if he were punished for his eraticness.

Some guys just don't have a sense of self-preservation. Defensive driving instincts are in short supply in F1.
I think everybody save Vettel and Button (and the backmarkers) are somewhat terrified of the weather right now.
@fiohaa - that's been the case for many years now, not just this year. Since they did away with refuelling there's an element of saving the tyres. Before that they were saving fuel.
Alonso may be able to attack yet, let's just see what happens. In the past we had Coulthard in a front running McLaren being held up at the back of the grid for half the race, so it's a bit rich to blame the tyres for the lack of overtaking opportunity.
Grosjean didn't weave, he moved right to fight the Ferrari and back to the left to take the widest line possible in to the corner. He probably didn't realise Schumacher was there or as close as he was, and that was his big mistake. That's not a mistake deserving of a penalty.
If the cars don't work across a wide range of temperatures then that's down to the design of the car. They need to do a better job. It would be a lottery if the performance of the tyre itself changed, it doesn't. The tyres don't vary, the teams just aren't keeping them in the working window. The fact that they can work that out and can come up with a solution, even if it takes them time, by definition means it is not a lottery.

I think it is.
I know the Speed guys were talking about the undulations during qualifying yesterday, but outside of the downhill to the tunnel, I don't feel the track is anywhere near as bumpy as it has been in the past.
