Ferrari F2012

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

it is clear that Ferrari risks a bit more white potential tyre overheating but has a better chance to seal the difussor!

am i right?

Also, 3 slots in the floor in front of rear wheels are back, in stead of 2 slots used in Spain and Monaco...

amouzouris, I salute your prediction, mate! =D>
And they call it a stall. A STALL!

There's always been 3 slots. Ever since they were introduced.

Looks like they've neatened up the top of the sidepods too. There was previously a bit of, now redundant, tube-shaping - that is, the top of the sidepods were still curved as with the acer ducts - and this looks to have been flattened out now.

As someone mentioned before, looks like the air is being channelled more towards this new exhaust positioning than before, which would indicate to me that they plan to stick with it.

Could be this three slots on the floor not only for downforce but also to cool down the tyre that it is expose to the exhauts? Just an idea

My mistake, I rushed into it... Due to joy of Ferrari, amount of work to ix their car problems is unbelievable...

I don't think so. The air cool down the tyre with the wind. Maybe it's to channel the vortex made by turning tyre. The direction of this one is opposite to the airblow.

They certainly don't, as already mentioned. Perhaps I should have been more clear - my point was pure aerodynamic testing. Evidently, the shape of the sidepods is different, which is detrimental to the rear flow, so it's important.

Do they have two cars with the Macca exhaust copy for the weekend, or only one?

Changing them round now though, apparently:

"Scuderia Ferrari‏@InsideFerrari

A lot of work on the cars for the next run, change of exhaust layout for both drivers."
