I just love the way front wings have evolved since the start of the wider spec 09 wing.
Interesting with the little winglet they have fitted.

 JV......... I know JV and probably your good self have your own agendas but the E20 is clearly not the best car at all - even if you write it in bold. What happened with Grosjean in the latter stages of Canada shows that the car just isn't using the tyres effectively enough early on (i.e. it's not fast enough) and until they change that through some further development nothing any driver does will change that. Tyres are really quite fundamental that way. At best the E20 is showing some promise......if they can overcome the shortcomings.

You can see the leading edge of the floor is sloped to give similar effect to the blown floor they used last year.

A lot of teams (mcl, rbr, force india) have adopetd the winglet on top fo the uper sidepod leading edge that the e20 sported first in preseason.

It is common knowledge that the winglet develops a vortex that runs on top of the sidepod and should help with downwash exhaust. Then, why was e20 the first car to adopt it? It does not have downwash/coanda exhaust.

Sky's Ted Kravitz in post race show had said that Romain had new front wing, while Kimi had old one.

Again from Ted Kravitz: he has learned that those winglets do not help with downwash/coanda exhausts. They actually reduce lift that is generated by that part of sidepod where they are.

The wings were different but Kimi did have a new one, the flaps were the same I think its the endplates that were different, Kimi was running the older style.

If you watch Ted Kravitz's behind-the-scenes piece he says Grosjean had a new front wing, Kimi didn't.

Kimi did use the new FW, but without the curved turning vane on the top element. Here's a picture from Quali and you can see he has the new wing with the top split element
