What do you think of the prospect of a USGP 2012 at Austin Texas

Good thinking. Place has good infra structure and nice climate in winter.

Not good as it has no motor sport tradition in the US.

15k for parking an RV in the mud, when a week at Hyatt on Lexington NYC will cost me 4, what's wrong with these people?

Or is that including a pre-owned RV or what?

$15K for year 1. Then add 2% per year for a 3-year contract, and 3% for a 2-year...and that's for F1 ONLY.
Is an RV included?

At any rate, I wouldn't attend this race even if I was still going to be in the area. They obviously won't miss me at all. But, I couldn't support this --- in good conscience.

Obviously. We already get those things at age 12. It's a rite of passage.

Seems expensive to me, but as always the proof will come race day. If they sell out those RV slots, then one might argue they were too cheap.

Rumor is that general admission is almost sold out, btw.

The one bit that I can't understand about this project is this tower thing...

It's not particularly appealing in any aesthetic sense. Certainly not an engineering marvel. I suppose there's some novelty to it, but apart from that, I'm not sure what the attraction is. Seems like a waste of resources.

Maybe if they have a camera platform on top then we'll get some cool overhead shots?

We don't have moonshine here. We make beer. Really good beer.

And what would be the appropriate way to consume said Nomex, with Chili and roadkill Amarillo perhaps?

Flushed down with Colt45?

Right, which goes to prove this fine forum's strickt policy of not drink and post, Armadillo, rings of ZZ doesn't it?

Anyway, do locals consume this animal the way they do woodchucks and opossums in WVa?

No. Too much armor, not enough meat. Besides that they're mean as hell and have huge claws that will shred anything in their path. We have approximaltey .75 cows per person around here, so don't need to resort to pissant creatures.

BTW, local custom regarding Nomex consumption is diced then topped with a Shiner Bock beer base chili, top with queso fresco, and served with a cold bottle of Shiner on the side.

Dammit, dinner time... screw you guys, I have Shiner in the fridge.
