Monza trap speeds

Yeas you are right speed trap. I´m sorry for that.
Top speed depends most on aero setup and engine power so I don´t think it´s wrong forum.

Sorry for my bad English but I would like to know top speeds at speed trap which is lokated at S/F street at Monza.

Jason, there's no point in correcting someone for a typo or word invertion, when you've understood very well what he was meaning ( especially when you can't answear his question). This is no secret that a huge proportion of forum members doesn't master english perfectly.

Rob, unfortunatly I don't have the information you seek, but I clearly remember I saw in a thread that a member was trying to list all speed traps of all circuit since (if I remember well) the early 80's. I don't remember which topic it was or who was the member, but this topic should be findable and hopefully contains your information.I have try a search on the forum for the keywords "speed trap", but the list was too long, and since I'm currently at work, I can't spend too much time on the net, but if you have the time, I'm sure you can find it.

Unfortunately, the f1 database [f1db] only contains the average speed of the fastest lap.

I may, and I stress may have the appropriate autosport magazine which would contain the info. But it would be a few weeks before I'll be at my parents home to look for it.


If anyone has access to the full forix (?) or autosport/atlas databases perhaps they can help?

I am still trying to understand why Pescarolo's lap in 1971 (sixth fastest lap in history, according to the data I posted) was only 10 km/h below Barrichello's record in 2004... on a March with a Cosworth V8!

It has to be the track... Next time somebody talks about "pinnacle of motorsport" I am going to blow my aneurism: F1 is the "nadir of tracks", I would add.

IIRC a chicane (or two) was added in the 70's

If you look at the chart, in 1971 the track length was 5750m, the next year it was 5775m. Looks like an extra chicane to me.

Just realised its from 1990 to 2000, not 1999 to 2000. D'OH!


I might have the 2000 data, nothing more unfortunately!


edit: It'll be next week before I will be able to post the stuff (if I find the mag at the weekend).
