Give up mate, he cant get his head around it. The Red Bull was (according to dxpetrov) the fastest car on the track,

This is the reason Red Bull finished 1st & 2nd....... Oh wait, it was 4th & 8th

I'm sure there are those who have jumped on because it feels like a bandwagon.

But, here are a few videos from Maldonado's pre-F1 days.

He is a liability out there in my opinion.

You can form your own conclusions.

While people keep bashing Maldonado they should atleast get their facts right. Maldonado isn't involved in the first video. But then again, whatever suits your agenda...

Exactly. It was 4 times the fastest car. Usually a 1-2 will already denote the fastest car. But Red Bull took it a step further and multiplied the 1-2 4 times over to get a 4-8 8)

Maldonado is not on that video. Even though the commentators and all the internet critics in the world try to convince me he is. It's Stefano Proetto that hits Colin Fleming's and Alx Danielsson's cars.

Very mature.
If final race positions are the only detriments of speed of the cars then you've got a lot more to learn about F1, Mate...

I don't hate Maldonado per se, I just think he is an idiot, and a liability on the track.

What he did at Monaco 2005 was horrific.

No, they're not. But Kimi in clean air (stint 2) was still quicker than Vettel in clean air.

Nothing about the crash.

Thought this thread was about the Hungary GP 2012, didn't realise we had experienced a 'light-speed' moment to take us back to the WS Belgium 2005!

I don't know who is in the first video, so can only go by what commentators and news outlets say. The second one is.. 50-50 really, isn't it? He takes the corner very early (like in Monaco with a certain mr. Hamilton) trying to force the other driver to brake really early I guess, but on the other hand you could argue that gap was always going to disappear sooner (as it did) or later.

That third one is interesting. Because he's made the same mistake in Silverstone and now in Hungary as well this year. Basically too much power too early, causing oversteer which he then has to correct which then causes the collision. I can kind of see that he wants to keep his style the same, as it presumably is what makes him as fast as he is. But surely by now he should be able to judge a little bit better how much power is too much power too early when there are other cars on the track with him. If he can't learn that, perhaps there is cause for concern there. He can't keep on arguing that he is racing "on the limit" when he is the only one who keeps misjudging when he's going over the limit and causing collisions.

Really dumb call by Red Bull to go for a three stop strategy. They should've known better seeing how well it worked out for Jenson. Even with his fresh tyres he couldn't get past Senna. When I heard Webber was in the pits for the third time I knew his race was ruined. A fifth place finish ahead of Alonso was already a great achievement but instead they wanted to gamble once more in the slim hopes everyone will fall off the cliff and be forced to pit. They should've counted their blessings and be happy to be in front of Alonso letting them slowly reduce his wdc lead. Instead they decided to gamble, pushing for that extra position that's is simply too far out of reach. Unsurprisingly Webbers fresh tyres couldn't help him overtake Senna as demonstrated earlier by Jenson and now the closest contender to Alonso falls back fighting for 2nd wdc with everyone else while Alonso continues to pull away. From a team like Red Bull I expected better.

On the other hand great job by Alonso. Once again he takes every opportunity he sees but avoids taking excessive risk to gain a position. Him and his team know when they can't win, they take what they can get instead of gambling. This is what makes him a consistent performer and consistency is what what will win the championship.

Finally, it was nice to see Kimi fighting for the win and good job by Lewis to hold him off, even though some of that might be attributed to the track being notoriously difficult to overtake.
