What do you think of the prospect of a USGP 2012 at Austin Texas

Good thinking. Place has good infra structure and nice climate in winter.

Not good as it has no motor sport tradition in the US.

Yes, I admit the hill in front of you in the video doesn't actually exist. Neither will the people sitting on it on race day. They'll actually be down in a ditch.

It's done with mirrors. Maybe epicycles.

Someone said that hill doesn't exist?

Tilke didn't do anything wrong there. It's the natural slope of the terrain.

The only one ignoring any evidence here is you. The ground that slopes away from the track, as I said, is hidden from view in the video by the armco & the drains stacked there...because it's below the track.

Haywood's land would be perfect for about 20-30 RV's. at @2500 (more if he puts water and power line) a spot guy could make a killing on race weekend. The guys staying could just shuttle themselves to COTA in a cab.

hello all

But the place of the circuit is in open country?. I'd like to know if the drivers are complaining about this as they do for Silverstone

The circuit is less than ten miles from the airport and less than twenty from downtown Austin. We go from urban to rural in a very short span here.

Yeah, downtown Austin and the airport are easily visible from much of the east side of the circuit.

ETA: To answer your question, I haven't heard any complaints. From what I can tell, many seem very happy to be visiting Austin.

Man, that's a vicious downhill turn into the first corner.

If you don't have a sense of humor about this whole thing after 184 pages of wide-ranging nonsense one way or the other and then some, I just don't know what to tell you. But, I would advise you to avoid my posts, because you're probably not going to like them at all.

The 2012 United States Formula One Grand Prix, not brought to you by Garmin. Or Magellan. Or Tom Tom.

No, it is. Have you ever followed one of those to the letter?
