COTA Austin - construction and infrastructure

Post here all non technical related topics about Formula One. This includes race results, discussions, testing analysis etc. TV coverage and other personal questions should be in Off topic chat.

What do you think of the prospect of a USGP 2012 at Austin Texas

Good thinking. Place has good infra structure and nice climate in winter.

Not good as it has no motor sport tradition in the US.

See the white rectangular area on the hillside above turn 3? It began to take shape a week or two ago and I'm wondering what it is. Looks like it could potentially be a secondary RV area, but COTA is saying that's ruled out for this year.

There's surely room somewhere, and it would be a cool thing to see. No idea if they'd want to do it though. Marble Falls' Lakefest is very popular with both fans and drivers, however. Getting them to forsake a successful venue with an established tradition might be tough.

I hope I get to see the day where America and the rest of the nations start using a more logical system.
Even for someone that has grown up with the system surely it must be overly complicated sometimes?

Yeah. Seriously lacking. They can keep the bean-pole "model" types. I'll take a real woman.
