It must be linked - in terms of "purpose." but it says nothing on using the wrong map for each tyre, afaik

im guessing the teams have to tell the FIA this is our dry map (to obviously used with dry tyres), this is our inter, wet map. So that this clear and teams can't say ah no that was our dry map not the other map lol

"one map for use with dry‐weather tyres and one map for use with intermediate or wet‐weather tyres" if you use the wrong map i guess its against the rules.

You can't do that, drivers might use wet maps with slick tyres during conditions change, being right after they move to slick with a damp track or when it starts raining.

Please don't bring up more stupid ideas to the already stupid rules. Someone with power up there may be reading this forum.

How do you know they're using a wet map on slicks, as I see it they can only use a specific map that matches the tyres. If its raining and your on slicks you drive slow and change tyres and then go onto the map that's designed for the wets/inters.

The red light on the back blinks. It's pretty easy to spot.

When a wet map is active the red light blinks is not the same thing is when the red light blinks a wet map is active.

Fer sure,,there is a switch,,,Hamilton had his on for half of the last race...personally I thought it was to disturb the following driver, but hey it was probably an accidental bump of the switch.

That switch must be of the single action type - once pressed you can't turn the light off. :)

Or, it's simply not worth polluting a driver's head with it to turn it off, because it has 0 negative impact on the race to leave the light on.
