It just comes from the actual car cut in half.

New diffuser and other updates seem to work pretty well. race pace in Silverstone was very good and in Hockenheim very very good.

They have looked so quick from time to time, it´s like they haven´t fully figured out how to get all of it out.
Glimpses of greatness in qualifying in certain sectors, very good race pace, probably the car that is the most kind on it´s tires.

Not to be one upped by Merc by removing their whole cascade it seems Sauber have just removed the whole upper plane of their wing.

The bit you see up top is actually a strake from underneath the wing.

More.

Don't they have a Ferrari style gearbox? Or did they make their own? Wow.. almost williams like.

 There was a wing in that photo?!

Really interested to see how Sauber does. Hopefully, the Spa quali quality wasn't just a matter of circumstances and we'll see both Kamui and Perez in solid Q3 positions.

Is their main plane almost designed to generate lift when DRS is activated? Looks from that angel as if the trailing edge is some bit lower than the leading edge.

In the picture it is hard to tell, but the black band at the trailing edge of the main plane reminds me of a gurney flap. I don't recall if such a thing is a allowed, or even advised as it would disrupt flow through to the upper plane.

Edit: After much closer inspection of the angle between the trailing edge and the centerline strake, that black band is just livery. No gurney flap.
