So.. what are peoples thoughts? Personally after spending a few hours with the game I have to say I'm not liking it. No matter what I do with the wheel settings and car settings I find that regardless of how I drive the cars understeer horrifically. I'm not saying that I am up there with the best but it doesn't matter how much I reduce the entry speeds to corners and reduce the apex speeds it doesn't make any difference. Also I find that the menus and set up options aren't very intuitive to use as f1 2011, and despite it's predecessors challenging handling I found that it was far more rewarding than 2012.
It´s goal is not to simulate an F1 car in any shape or form. It only exists to simulate some weird semi-feeling of being an F1 driver.
Frankly i can´t even understand how people continue to fund such a --- company.
All their games have more bugs then the Amazon.
If you want to drive things that actually try to simulate F1 cars, try Rfactor, Rfactor 2, iRacing or the best one to date.
Ferrari Virtual Academy I or II. There you can even run against Alonso and Massa and see what times they have done.
It´s only hotlapping but it is sure as hell more rewarding then the piece of crap called from Codefailures.

I wasn't talking about it in regards of being a sim game. But as a game in general. And more importantly in comparison to 2011. None of the current gen F1 games have ever been billed as hardcore sims.
You will keep the understeer no matter what, that is just how the game is made, with huge, huge amounts understeer, no matter what.
Honestly, the game is crap. It is fun for those guys who dont know a damn thing about f1 but watch every race and want to drive like hamilton. But for anyone with more knowledge it is just pure crap.
The game is more bumper cars than real racing, the physics are crap, even now that they have a physics director. The controls are crap, the sounds are ridiculously bad and the graphics are do able.
The physics, they are just to cry, but now at least you can have controllable oversteer, that is the only good part. The braking points are wrong and just way off, locking tires are just simulated wrong, and the rest isnt any better either.
F1 2011 had quite a lively rear end. So they've dumped that and gone the opposite direction?

imo it was too much in F1 2011, you couldnt drive the small kinks with DRS open. But I believe F1 2011 also had huge understeer while driving without DRS.
There is just 0.0 feel in the car, and that is annoying. Milestone can do it too in WRC so why cant Codies?

I should've been more specific. In F1 2011, without adjusting the settings, without traction control(TC made it understeer because you couldn't break traction. Besides, F1 doesn't use TC, so using it in the game is weak.), there was oversteer in fast corners.

I feel like they made the rear a lot more loose. With the same exact settings from 2011 on Catalunya in 2012 I'm spinning out on turn 1-2. In 2011 you could drive Monza's parabolica with DRS open in 2012 you cant.
I wouldn't say it's a great simulator but that's not what it's meant to be. It's a game you play for fun. With all the assists off and a steering wheel it's not too bad.
There should be a maldonado challenge in addition to these world champion challange mood where your Sergio Perez at Monaco and have to pass Maldonado without him taking you out.
Agreed but that's because they have scaled the downforce down slightly to represent the loss of the EBD. I find the oversteer is actually quite an improvement on f12011, much more manageable and when you catch it more satisfying. I'm managing to dial out the undeersteer through changing the force feedback settings and trail braking into corners.

I completely agree. 2011 has much more high-speed oversteer than 2010, but its also more benign and predictable. In F1 2011, catching oversteer moments in Barcelona Turn 3 is quite satisfying.(If you don't lift)

Personally, I don't enjoy oversteer in these games, because by the time you see oversteer it's too late to catch it without a gigantic tank slapper. When carting, I naturally catch and correct oversteer, but I can't for the life of me get used to doing it in F1 2011. I just can't do it without feeling the car moving.
I would agree with everyone who is complaining about the understeer issue... it's lousy. I have tried every possible combination of force feedback settings and advanced control settings to no avail. I'm taking back the PS3 version and waiting until I finish building my PC to buy the PC version because I can at least alter the rotation settings on the PC version with my Logitech G27 and that apparently fixes the issues.
