What do you think of the prospect of a USGP 2012 at Austin Texas

Good thinking. Place has good infra structure and nice climate in winter.

Not good as it has no motor sport tradition in the US.

But then they also say that you are allowed to bring personal camera equipment, and give a pretty inclusive list of what that means.

It smells more like something that FOM is requiring, rather than the track. I mean, what do they care?

Maybe, but they allow these kinds of cameras at other GPs, like Montreal & Silverstone. It's written kind of ambiguously. I don't know what to think about it.

Re-wording from COTA permits cameras with detachable lenses 10" long or shorter:

It looks to as if the paddock area will be relatively small compared to the more generous lay outs in China or other new places. But there are a lot of very small Paddocks all over the world. So this is not such a big problem.

I'm not going to this race, but I'm still kind of stoked for it. It would be awesome to actually see F1 highlights on ESPN, or on the main webpage of SI.com...

This may have been answered before, but does anyone know which network will carry the race? I'm guessing Fox.

Looks like the race will be at noon Austin time. It will get murdered by football. Oh well. I guess it would be on one of the niche channels at best then.

I think it's planned for a SPEED broadcast.

BTW, I could have sworn that I already posted this, but the RV pads are coming back (you can also sorta see them in the pics Pup posted above):

I guess motorauthority.com liked them, too, because they used them as their COTA photo update:
