Lotus seems to be bringing a whole raft of upgrades to Japan. Things are going to get sticky at the front.

It's not possible to decide the championship in Suzuka. Korea it's possible, but unlikely (Alonso practically has to win both with none of his opposition scoring)

I wouldn't count Vettel out if it rains - it would wipe a great deal of his car's high speed downforce disadvantage - and Vettel is quite fast around Suzuka.
Cant be "decided" in Korea either.

According to the weather forecast, a major typhoon is heading for the Suzuka region today (also for Tokyo). I hope it won't damage the circuit and access roads. (2 years ago, Fuji Speedway was damaged by a typhoon, and SuperGT was canceled)

If Japanese GP was held one week earlier, things would have been terrible...oh dear

Yeah - My mistake. I remembered it as 3 more races after Korea, it's 4.

5-place grid penalty for Button. (elevating Hamilton to pole :))

Gearbox change. http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/103002

The good side is both will run completely fresh gearboxes for the event.
Perhaps not that important due to the nature of the track but should add some confidence for them that one part is now alot less likely to fail.

either you expect Hamilton on pole, or Button on pole with Hamilton at best outside the Top 5.

I expect Hamilton to outqualify Button at Suzuka - regardless of whether or not either is on pole. In all honesty I don't think a McLaren pole is a given.

No question about that.

Once a driver has signed with another team but still drives for his current, does the current team not allow that driver to be as involved with the tech since it changes virtually every race? Will this change any race weekend procedures for Lweis or will nothing change except maybe some mind games that may start between the team and driver? Sort of like when a person puts in their final work date and how that then affects internal meetings, etc. just curious if the new contracts will affect these last races. You guys seem to understand those dynamics and I'm genuinely curious if this will affect anything. I know public ally everyone acts like nothing will change, but I find that hard to believe--especially in this scenario with Lewis.
