Good decision, MSC has to go this year or next, good that he took a stand and decided to announce his permanent retirement in SUZUKA his fav circuit, hoping for some nice show from him in these last few races.

Terrible news for me, F1 will not the same without him, I am shocked and sad. :(

Anyway, its the most reasonable choice, he came to win with Mercedes but it hasnt been possible, so he shows 100% coherence and retires.

But races wont be the same, F1 wont be the same, and the amount of comments will decrease without his presence.

I know everything comes to it's end but am a bit saddened by the news. Did not imagine his retirement this way.
Will be even more saddened if he stays with Mercedes.

your wrong !! F1 is the same with Michael or without Michael..... but for you and his fan yea wont be the same... (also for me).

Pretty sad news ... If in 2006 i know he'll be back now I'm sure he will not come back :?

I hope he stays at Mercedes.

Reasoning is we all know he can still drive, and if something untoward happened in 2013, he can deputise.
He can also have a go at DTM, staying at Mercedes makes more sense than being some lame puppet elsewhere.

That I highly doubt since Mercedes is still in the game to keep all of us busy

This is the wisest decision.
For me, really, it was heartbreaking seeing him underperform in this 3 years. Maybe he hadn't had the right car, maybe he wasn't the same driver, maybe the motivation wasn't still the same although he said it was, who knows.

Thank you Michael for the wonderful races and for the fact that you made me watch, love and grow up with Formula 1 since I was 7 years old.

Something strange because part of me says it's good but the other side is very sad .... i really miss him next year ... the reason why i still watch F1 was him but now :?: I never ever imagined it would end like this
