The LH's on board video showed he lost the gears from the exit of turn 1 all the way to turn 2 and 3 and then the on board video from Seb's car showed the oil plume clearly from the exit of turn 2 so it's quite obvious that the plume is after it failed.

It's the same one that they've been using since Valencia 2010... the one where they have the pylons sort of half-chopped from the back, so that at speed the pylons pivot down.
