Sebastian Vettel has won the Japanese GP after leading it from start to finish. With the DNF of Fernando Alonso, this also means that he was able to close the gap to Alonso to a mere 4 points in the championship standings. The remaining Ferrari of Felipe Massa finished in second place while home here Kamui Kobayashi joined the podium in third place.

Sebastian Vettel 3.75
Fernando Alonso 15
I didn't know gambling odds were allowed on here?
Why not? It gives a decent idea of the current picture after P1 and P2. I'm from the UK so maybe it's a bit different but the idea that they could be not allowed is very bizarre to me
And about Vettel setting his fastest time on the MEDs - 95% sure that was a mistake on the timing. I rewound it and definitely saw some yellow rings on his tires when he was setting his fastest times (although I was really tired but I'm pretty sure I'm right)

Yup. No way he could set the time on primes.
Pirelli Media @Pirelli_Media No, Vettel set his fastest time on a set of the P Zero yellow softs. #F1
The new teams are a complete joke, they're a liability for F1, nothing more.

Charles Pic, Michael Schumacher and Karthekian under investigation from race director Charlie Whiting
Reason for pic: Was on the racing line going slow approaching the last chicane blocking Hamilton whilst on a flying lap (could of been a very serious accident).
Reason for Schumacher: Impeding Button while on a flying lap on the kink of 130R (Schumacher was on the racing line while on an off-lap) Once more it had the potential to be a serious incident.
Karthekian: Cut off/Blocked Senna on the final chicane before the main straight.
If someone said to me that you can have three wishes, my first would have been to get into racing, my second to be in Formula 1, my third to drive for Ferrari.
According to BBC Alonso and Massa used different rear wings in FP3 so this could explain one part of time difference. Also Masa had clear track for his fast lap. Most cars tried to back off after 130R to get some clean space and that ruined some fast laps for others.
The odds for qualifying are now:
Vettel 2.36
Hamilton 2.7
Alonso 44
I'm not sure that Alonso is truly so far behind. Hamilton and Button could not show their true potential due to traffic. I agree that Hamilton may go head to head with Vettel. I just hope that Webber and Button have good qualifying as well. With a bit of luck Grosjean and Raikkonen could line up ahead of the Ferrari lead car. Alonso starting between five and seven would be good for the championship. I'm looking forward to an entertaining qualifying.
