Ferrari F2012

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

Old mirrors suggesting we may see the flow conditioner?

Maybe connected to the 2nd fin?

Might just be a reflection, but is there a new little ridge here that could help direct the airflow?

I'd looove that idea. They need them like bread...
And they call it a stall. A STALL!

Should also be noted that it's Massa's car - did he ever migrate to the new mirrors or was it just Alonso?

Yes, he had the new mirrors one Grand Prix later than Alonso. Now it seems to me that Massa has the new setup and Alonso has the old ones.

Well look at the second fin next to the cockpit...its exposed carbon now...where as last week it wasn't expose...I think something will be connecting to that this weekend?
If someone said to me that you can have three wishes, my first would have been to get into racing, my second to be in Formula 1, my third to drive for Ferrari.

Yes, it is just a reflection of overhead equipment!

If they did that, the flow conditioner "wing" would be a lot higher above the sidepod than the McLaren or Sauber (at the start of the season) versions.

Still, it would at last look a bit like the Piola drawing from before the car was launched, and I've often wondered why he would have thought they would put a wing there if there was no intention of doing so. Perhaps it's a concept they've been working on all along?

I personally wouldn't call that a "small" update though.

Also, no sign of a sidepod flow conditioner here, but we can't even see the vertical one so who knows? In addition, the carbon fiber part between the rear wishbones is now different.
