i think its an extremely good track drive, but from a racing stand point not so good.

Last year didn't do it justice because of all the construction dust. I think a clean track this year will show the true nature of the racing.

You seem to be missing a point

A track is not judged by the overtaking opportunities it offers. Imola before and after 1994 was a difficult track to pass, still it was an exciting drive (for an example).

I agree, I guess I was pointing out the passing stats as that seems to be the most common criticism of his Tracks. But in terms of high speed corners, his tracks certainly aren't lacking in this regard. India is amazing, despite not that many overtakes last year.

Well for what it's worth the McLaren boys (from their preview press releases) seem to love the circuit, with Hamilton comparing it to Spa and Button comparing it to Suzuka. I think that's slightly over the top but yeah.

Mind you I'm not a fan of the tightening corners, though I'm fine with China T1-2

haha, there are no desert there mate, and the nearest desert is 500km away

New delhi and the surrounding area have climate system similar to europe ...but a bit warmmer
and temp would go below 4 degree celcius in winter....no other areas in india has such low temps.

and the place were i live(Kerala) is proper rain forest kinda climate

I agree that there is not a desert, but there was a lot of dust on the track due to a more arid climate compared to typical F1 circuits.

Has anyone noticed any trends for which cars have a relative advantage on which tires? I suppose cars that chew tires prefer the hard tires but apart from that it doesn't seem like there are any mismatches similar to Ferrari and hard tires last year

Even though the tires are different this time maybe we will see a similar pecking order to Korea

Earlier in the season temperature seemed to be more of an issue. Mercedes was better in the cold, Lotus better in the warm relative to the competition. Everyone but Mercedes has seemed to "figure out" the tires. There has been the occasional race where a team hasn't been able to get one compound to work over the other though.
