Sorry i didn't attend i had a MASSIVE accident with the car and had to use an older version and build it again.
And so you touch this limit, something happens and you suddenly can go a little bit further. With your mind power, your determination, your instinct, and the experience as well, you can fly very high.

I'm guessing that's some CFD done by Ric himself as the Khamsin boys will put the wheels and suspension in...???

Yeah its just some basic flow test I did myself to add bumph to the website.

it does make sense now. bet you guys are looking forward to getting the results?

What data gets released to the public and what gets released to the designer privately?

C.o.P, Cd, Cl everyone can see, the designer can see the paraview files no-on else can access them, however we will show 1 generic image, however, the designer can go look all the way round the car all over it in depth to get an idea of whats working and what isn't within paraview,

I can release 1 piece of information, on a car (I wont say which one) but 1 simulation took 20h 48mins to get a result in computational time, :)

Blimey! I assume you can set the computer going and then wait for. the results for most of that?

well, we set it running and wait for convergence, also aside from that, the reason we can do fast turn around with those times is because we have sabalcore helping by supplying computing power, remember each car has 3 simulations ran on it, so each car spends 60hrs+ of computer time being simulated,

Really curious to know which car took that long.

Distinct lack of car renders so far

i should think most would take 15hrs+ to do a full car

Nick: are you running with a floor, if so rolling? and also rotating wheels?
It doesn't make any difference if you do or don't to me, just interested to know more about the conditions the simulation is done in

That car definitely wont be mine! Mine wont take anywhere near as long!

Hi,

We run with a floor, a velocity is applied to the wheels, so it is a proper simulation :)

Hope this answers the question

The car is static with the floor and wheels moving. We use the same simulation setup used on a test car from the SketchUp warehouse. Feel free to have a look at the results files (https://dl.dropbox.com/u/40499338/KVRC% ... 0Vegas.zip - link is on the website as well).

To give you an update, we have all results for 6 out of the 8 cars and are running the last four simulations. Just to add on Nick earlier post, the time taken by simulations vary greatly (from 7hrminutes to over 60 hours - this is for a single simulation on one core). The good news is that we are looking good for getting results for all the cars - which is an achievement in itself (from my perspective).

Results coming soon...

Where do you find the results in these files?
