i do not see how merc wants to improve next year, even if they don't were able to optimize the coanda exhaust since singapore. rear tyres overheating ....... .... everything out of their mouths sounds to me more like an excuse.

I am afraid they are not counting on what you see will happen next year!!

Okay. I know people have lot of expectations from Mercedes because of the brand and mostly because its Micheal who is driving for them (had it not been Michael then I doubt people would have been so pissed off). But the team is going through a major reshuffle in staff and infrastructure. So IMO, we should give them another year at least to show the real performance. If by 2014 they don't turn up with a winning car then this thread is all yours!!

I was watching the qualifying and saw that Rosberg wiped the floor with Hamilton. Proves that Hamilton is a human being not an F1 freak coming from Mars. Mercedes had the strongest line up in F1 IMO. What was missing is a car.

i agree, when the car was competetive they were both qualifying in top 3 (china and monaco) too bad reliabality was horrible.

100% agree, with Nico´s natural speed and Michael´s race pace they could have smashed the competence with Monaco´s car. But the team failed so much, Nico will have more opportunities but unfortunately Michael not.

where was MERCEDES this year? . ... you compare Hamilton in a McLaren with Schumacher or Rosberg in Mercedes?? we talk here about Mercedes and at the moment Hamilton is super fast but he hasn't prove anything vs Rosberg or Schumacher because both germans runs in a very bad car.

this is my point, the guy said "oh look Rosberg killed everyone at China, thus it must be Rosberg only"
Then when he fails to do it again it´s all of a sudden the car.

Rosberg beat Schumacher in USA so perhaps it´s the right decision.

Yes, but I am not so sure that it was due to the different exhaust sytem, the first stint of Michael was, by far, the worst I have seen in Mercedes, even with higher temperatures and worse tracks for the tyres, I sincerely think that these tyres were not in good conditions.

The rest of the race Nico was faster, but with a normal difference, what we see in the first stint was surrealistic.

Probably because Schumacher had to run 20 kg´s more fuel, and Brawn saying the new exhaust still heats up the tires a bit too much. And the fact that you loose horsepower.

Just seems to be smartest to run the tried and tested solution.

They should have done like Lotus though. Developing the system for a long time until they knew it would bring more positives then negatives,

they don´t understand coanda,end of story .
They unfathomably did not realise they had not gotten to grips with it for an awful lot of races only to remove it for this race...so why waste all those races...incredible.
Then what did they do on the young driver test? it´s on the verge of bizarre they did not realise it was not helping them..
I m sure they need a whole new approach to their methods and approach if they want to suceed..neither lauda nor Hamilton are likely to help with this...Brawn at least has realised things are a lot more interrelated than their work allows for and that is one reason why they struggle so much (we want to understand the tyres first before developing the car further..)this is not working these days.
