As expected I was last but without a diffuser and a front wing that you need to use a magnifying lens to see I don´t think it´s too bad.

Looks like Variante's car (pictured above) is a nice clean design which probably goes a long way to explaining why it won...

Its interesting that most designs had a pretty good downforce distribution.... around 60% rear on most designs.... so most people need to get a tiny bit more front end to balance their designs... except Mareli who actually achieved the second highest downforce overall, but a whopping 82% of that downforce coming from the front end....

Looking forward to seeing pictures of the different cars!

Sorry to sound dumb but what do the Cd.A and Ci.A things actually mean?

There were some cars which were completely illegal, which teams will soon know what was illegal

Cd.A is the Coefficient of Drag x Area
Cl.A is the Coefficient of Lift X Area (We are treating downforce as positive)

are you not going to do it as listed in the cfd example? drag in newtons and downforce in newtons?

i don't quiet get it :|

edit: now i do cheers

Cd.A is the coefficient of drag multiplied by the car's frontal area... higher means more drag (bad)

Cl.A is the coefficient of lift(or downforce) multiplied by the car's frontal area. Higher is better.

The C.O.P is the centre of pressure and represents the distance from the car's front axle at which the downforce would have to act if it were treated as a point load. You want it to be around 1.9m so it matches the mass distribution and therefore gives a good balance for optimum cornering performance.

EDIt; beat me to it Nick!

Interesting comparison between Cottrell and RicMe; Cottrell had more drag and less downforce overall, but a better balance of the downforce it did have, and hence a slightly better lap time... but it was close!

Happy with my 5th place. from the results it looks like i need more downforce overall but more towards the front..

Interesting results, will be very curious to see the files that get sent out.

What I find most interesting is that mine and Dan's cars, both of which probably very similar to Formula Sketch cars were trumped by someone starting with a blank slate and creating something that looked very basic in comparison.
