It was because it was the only one for a few races. The pace of the car was impressive, but not fastest(for example the Red Bull without Coanda would have been faster, as well as for the McLaren)turbof1 wrote:Lotus actually was the best non-coand exhaust car.
I think you are wrong Red Bull whithout coanda system would be slower, not sure for Mclaren.wesley123 wrote:It was because it was the only one for a few races. I agree. See non-Coanda red Bull in China.wesley123 wrote:I said the Red Bull without the Coanda was was faster than the Lotus.
You can apply that to everything, i mean Alonso wouldnt have been as close in the standings if Vettel hadnt broken down etc etc. I would say Lotus deserved its 3rd place spot, would prob been higher if lets say Alonso sat in Kimis place.wesley123 wrote:I said the Red Bull without the Coanda was was faster than the Lotus.
First of all, it is easy to say that 'The lotus was the fastest non-coanda car' when it was the only one at a point in the season. If the McLAren didnt run with the coanda they would be faster, as would the Red Bull be. Also the Ferrari was faster without the coanda exhaust early season.
Also I doubt they would have won more if they had introduced the coanda earlier. The addition of the coanda exhaust for Lotus improved not that much, and their position didnt improve nor decrease.
To say that they could possibly fight for the championship is far fetched too, they were never contenders for the championship, not at a single point in the season. Their Abu Dabhi win was a lucky one, and that they kept that close in the standings was rather because of misfortune of the 3 teams in front of them.
First of all, I agree with prime comment. This thread has been hi-jacked!KATO wrote:Can we talk about the MP4-28 please..
Sorry/also thank you if anyone translates.. Thank you-!!

[citation needed]Well if McLaren adds this to the MP4-28 they will make a beast of a car.
Really you need all that I was mainly talking about the article above and Jenson saying he would be working with the Engineers and not Perez also it's kind of assumed like some one else said that they should take in elements from the other teams..beelsebob wrote:[citation needed]KATO wrote:Well if the MP4-28 is going to be set to be completely more advanced and not just an evolution.. I find it interesting that it's getting referred to as the red bull ramp... It was sauber that came up with this.dren wrote:I expect the MP4-28 to be an evolution with very little differences from the 27. The sidepod area and exhaust will likely see some differences to improve the exhaust. I don't think they will go the Red Bull ramp route. The nose probably will be higher, since they didn't max out this area to the regulations with the 27. I don't expect them to run a passive DRS device.
