What do you think of the prospect of a USGP 2012 at Austin Texas

Good thinking. Place has good infra structure and nice climate in winter.

Not good as it has no motor sport tradition in the US.

Sure, but I don't think that's far off. Maybe about 1:35-36...

I really haven't seen that much comment from people who were there , especially those who traveled from outside the U.S., and their thoughts on the track and amenities or how they felt they were treated etc.
Since I haven't seen a flood of complaints, I reckon it was a pleasant experience for most who went?

MODS, please feel free to move if this is not the thread for this:

Did the race make money for the area? Cole county (about an hour from the track) has four (4) police officers. During race weekend they issue FIVE HUNDRED (500) speeding tickets. At $100 (my estimate) each, that's $50,000.

1) No ---, that's been known for months.
2) What has this got to do with COTA's construction and infrastructure.

I hope they are upgrading the approach to the circuit so one doesn't have to walk a mile before the gates - any news on planned updates?

We got pulled over when passing a semi on the Interstate. I think it might have been that county. He was wanting to quickly ticket us so he could get someone else.

The track and event exceeded all of my expectations. It is a first class establishment.
