Except that no GP2 team builds a car - they are all from Dallara. The engines are from Mecachrome.
Other components are also to a certain specification and everyone uses the same (eg. suspension components from Koni, brembo calipers on hitco carbon, OZ wheels, the list goes on).

I agree one of the better GP2 outfits wouldn't be bad at operating a car, but the difference between that and specifying/designing/developing/building your own spec of everything is massive.

Even relatively simple-sounding stuff like getting the power steering sorted out isn't all that easy.

Sure, what I'm saying is that having a bunch of guys who know how to operate and work on a fast car is better than having nothing. If you're going to buy something, I'd rather buy that than HRT.

Yeah. Remember Luca's idea about Penske or Ganassi running a 3rd Ferrari? One of those guys would probably already be (back) in F1 if it made fiscal sense. F1 is much more expensive than any American series.
