Was speaking to someone from Team Petronas today, Hamilton Is around a second a lap faster in the simulater than Nico was, in last years car - first time out! So I'm sure Button is 'feeling the benefits' of not being spanked by his team mate every week!

Not surprised. It's been most bemusing to see the usual suspects around here try and claim that they're spending something like €150 million and that somehow teams like Red Bull are spending more than twice that.

The Technical Director debacle just defies belief. I think we all have to come to the conclusion that Bob Bell has now been sidelined, probably for telling RB and Merc some home truths. Bob Bell has been a Team Principal before and he has a heck of a lot more experience than RB.

If engine division counts too then we should count it for Red-Bull too. Isn't it supposed to be (off the record) the Renault works team?

As for Bob Bell, I don't know, isn't he supposed to be in the engine department finding a better way to integrate the design to the car?

Even without the engine division it's a sizeable sum, and besides, the team and MHPE are effectively one organisation now in the same way that Ferrari is. You'll have employees constantly in a state of flux from one to the other. It paints a very different picture of a team supposedly in constant transition that we have been constantly told. It's all really quite a poor return based on their results.

As for Bob Bell, Technical Directors don't get told to wander off to do something engine related.
