Red Bull RB9 Renault

On Red Bull it dips up towards the center it seems. Both however are not flat floors.

I think you got it wrong, that fin (where your line goes up) is just a flow conditioner because of the tyre disturbance, I think, there surely is something on the right side to the center of the car that looks like a dip, but It's not as big as you might guess from that photo.

I just might be wrong as well.

yea i can see the fin perfectly fine, but it´s a couple of centimeters away from the actual floor bump.
the base of the fin and bump is probably a lot closer though, maybe 1cm.

From the steering wheel back I'd say the car is without peer, how do they package the rocker and rear shock? It's like the pull rod just points into the floor and terminates, no other team seems to focus so much on 'dirty air' zones with aerodynamics having the last word over packaging, everyone else just puts lumps and bumps where they got it wrong.

In fact, from the exhaust inwards there is no "sea-level" whatsoever. It´s raised all of it.
It´s one massive tunnel that originates from the sidepod tunnel.

I find hard to believe anyone would want to carry that much drag in the form of that tunnel system. Surely that's got be a huge air brake?

I'd really like someone to explain the benefits RB expect to gain over the penalty of towing that tunnel?

Is your theory that it's blowing air over the diffuser to make up for the bridge?

It may also be part of a cooling system for the KERS batteries and supercaps. Previous photos of the RB8 floor have shown the KERS energy packs running parallel on either side of the gearbox.

And perhaps the same reasons Mclaren has a dip, to lock in the gases more i guess.

It does seem to funnel into the tyre/floor slot that they seal off. So it will help direct the exhaust flow much better.
