whats different with the new packs? lacking internet at home atm so need to know if its urgent i used the new pack or if i can continue with the old

have you considered including Khamsin in the packs? and an already set up environment for sketchup so ppl only need to place there cars in it to run a test (to keep it simple for some)

we have something rather special in the new packs, which wasnt going to be included but now it is, khamsin is a good idea to include but we have something else rather special, but its still being tested :/

ok, look forward to it.

B'coz i understand you need to create a windtunnel (basicly) to run? is that right? So i was suggesting you put in something like that so people don't need to get there heads around it. Then i might be wrong and you don't need to do it

what about needing the v2 pack? will i be ok continuing with v1 until i get internet properly or is there something i need

The V2 pack includes updated regulations regarding the nose, and the V2 pack also includes new regulations for the challenge, alongside that it has a supplied crash structure added in,

Any idea when this pack will be sent out?
And is there a date yet for the first race?

I like the idea mentioned above about a pre-made windtunnel being included in the pack.
If we had a Sketchup file with a tunnel pre-defined it would save time and hassle figuring it out and would make the process a lot easier for us.

i think that's what he/i/we mean by wind tunnel. a ready created environment for us to place our cars in which is already set up for a test. all we have to do is place our car, set the conditions (m/s etc - or even better pre-set) and press start.

I know it won't be as simple as that, i dunno. But something like that would be handy/helpful

I mean a Sketchup file that has a rectangular box with parameters predefined with Khamsin that would allow us to simple copy and paste our car or parts into the box and just hit run in Khamsin.

I have run a test with Khamsin but I am not 100% sure it was set up correctly nor displaying the results expected. If this ambiguity was removed by having a pre-setup windtunnel then we would all be working off the same songsheet so to speak

i'd imagen nick you must copy and past the cars into the same environment sketchup file, so what we're suggesting is a copy of that file

Right, the box which we put it in is called a domain, you have inlet, outlet, roof, floor and walls, I am sure we can organize to add this in to the starter pack too, currently we have been testing a KVRC plugin to put within the welcome pack so you can work purely within the sketchup interface,

Yes, this plugin allows you to work purely within sketchup so no file moving around anymore or emailing, it will do it all for you, I went to send the welcome pack without it, but then the email failed, so I am waiting until we have the final plugin version to add into the welcome pack until I send the welcome pack

we will update this plugin from time to time, adding extra features, but for now, it allows your life to be easier
