Caterham CT-03 Renault

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

"...and there, very much in flames, is Jacques Laffite's Ligier. That's obviously a turbo blaze, and of course, Laffite will be able to see that conflagration in his mirrors... he is coolly parking the car somewhere safe." Murray Walker, San Marino 1985

very nice car, nice shape on the side pods, looking well, if only they kept HK. Cant see them doing well this year with 2 rookies

In the top view, the exhausts look like the F138 one's

I think it's very interesting, that the air intakes of the sidepods are clearly smaller than the CT-01 one's.
Maybe the Renault engine for this year doesn't need as much cooling since we could also see shrinked air intakes at the RedBull RB9

side pods have more of an undercut.
extra vortex generators on top of the side pods.
seems there is a hole/vent after the vortex generators.
revised exhaust.
Rear end looks more sculpted than last year.

Front suspension geometry is just astonishing! Never saw as high upper wishbone front pick up point position with so low for the back one.

Interesting winglets on the front wing. Have we ever seen the winglets in front of the actual wing?

Yes, me too! But if the CoG is very low, why not place the Instant Center of the front suspension very low too?
But we all know that the front suspension has very little travel so maybe it will not change the sensitivity to braking moment.
It might be better for the airflow going on the inlets of the side pods
